Join the Cancer Support Community of Redondo Beach, as we walk against cancer at the beautiful Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Your participation and money raised is vital in keeping our over 150 programs a month - completely free of charge - available, so we can continue to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community. Grab a leash and bring your four legged friends down to Terranea for a morning stroll for a wonderful cause!

Bark For Life of Torrance - Walk for the Cure

The American Cancer Society Bark For LifeTM is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.

Date: October 27, 2013
Time: 10 AM to 2 PM
Location: Wilson Park, Torrance
Registration Starts: 10 AM
Opening Ceremony: 11 AM
Closing Ceremony: 2 PM

By supporting Bark For Life, you help the American Cancer Society save lives, and that helps us move closer to our ultimate goal of a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

Looking for something fun to do Sunday?  With the family, kids and dogs … all welcome

 

You might want to consider heading out to the Bridlewood HOA Equestrian Picnic Area in the Santa Rosa Valley.  The California Coastal Horse Rescue is holding their annual fundraising event – including a picnic and “Hoe Down” to raise money to support the horses. Admission is free, but they are having several fund raising opportunities throughout the day, including a Cake and Pie Auction.

6th Annual "Be More Healthy" Expo

Admission is free and open to the public!

Presented by the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce

Seal Beach Animal Care Center will be an exhibitor and will bring cats and dogs to the event!

Open to the public, this free event will feature games, Zumba demonstrations, health screenings and more.

The expo will also include more than 70 exhibiters at the Seal Beach Pier.

Attendees can receive screenings for stroke, blood glucose, blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, hearing and vision, skin, heart health, drug abuse, heart burn, immunization, medication counseling and more.

Free screenings will be provided by Scan Health Plan, Western University of Health Science, College of Pharmacy, Tri-City Regional Medical Center, and Seal Beach Lions Club Hearing & Vision Van. 

Other activities:

Senior Services:  Silver Sneakers Demo, Dance, In Home Care, Medicare Advantages and Assistive Technology. Organizers will provide a free shuttle service from Leisure World to the event.

Kids Zone:  A bouncy house/obstacle course, soccer games, face painting, meet Miss Seal Beach, Tai  Chi, parachute games and information on how to be healthy kids.  

On Stage:  Physicians and health professionals will speak on hot topics about your health care.

Demonstrations:  Zumba, Silver Sneakers, Dance Demo, Tai Chi Dance, Jazzercise

Come and bring the entire family for a day of fun, sun and health at the beautiful Seal Beach Pier!
