The Animal Disaster Team (ADT) was formed to provide care and sheltering of animals impacted by disasters.
Under the direction of the Torrance Animal Control, the ADT goal is to provide quality care in a timely, organized manner during a disaster. The mission will vary according to the magnitude of the disaster. The ADT can assist with pets allowing the police department, fire department and other disaster responders to concentrate their efforts on public safety.
We encourage all pet owners to evacuate with their pets.
I’m attaching some important pet forms you should print and complete in keeping up with your Pet Emergency Supply Kit.
EMERGENCY PET RESOURCES: Use this form to list pet-friendly hotels, emergency veterinary clinics, pet kennel and day care facilities, and family or friends you may need during a disaster. Keep a copy of this list in your pet emergency kit and vehicle. It is important to identify resources outside your local area in the event the resources in your local area are unavailable or at capacity.
