Jean Brusavich, founder of TranquilPET, Animal Healing and Wellness.

Hello, and welcome to my website on Holistic Pet Care.

I cannot remember a time where animals were not a part of my life.  I believe that my love of, and connection to, animals, directed me towards the healing arts.

This direction was sparked in 2006 when my beloved Basenji/German Shepard mix, Bailey, was having difficulty walking after recuperating from major surgery.  Bailey's (then 12) hind legs had begun to atrophy due to lack of exercise.   A friend suggested swimming and the only place I could find swimming for dogs was in Fountain Valley (over 40 minutes away).

After three few weeks of aqua therapy (three times a week), I noticed a marked improvement in Bailey's muscle tone and, consequently, ability to walk without assistance.  After the initial workouts in Fountain Valley, I continued Bailey’s aqua therapy myself in my brother’s pool twice a week, then moving to once a week.  I also supplemented Bailey’s treatment with acupuncture (which eventually led to my studies in acupressure).

With a strong focus on improving Bailey’s quality of life,  I was adamant that my best friend would continue to enjoy her senior years in comfort and enjoy as much of an active life as was possible.  Thus, this began my journey in pet education in various modalities (Animal Massage, Reiki for Animals and their Human Companions, Canine Aquatic Fitness), which resulted in my establishing TRANQUIL PET, Holistic Pet Care in December, 2011.

NoteAs an holistic animal healer, I feel it is my obligation to continue my studies and continue to develop my skills.  On the next page (Jean's Educational Journey), is a list of schools I have, and continue to study with, and member organizations.
I feel very fortunate to have studied with some amazing instructors and I look forward to continuing my education.
